Carlo Natali

Carlo Natali is Honor Professor at Università Ca' Foscari Venezia. He was been Professor of History of Ancient Philosophy at the same University from 1999 to 2018. He also was Visiting Scholar at University of Cambridge (1995), Faculty Fellow at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Humanities, Edinburgh (2006), Visiting Fellow at All Souls College, Oxford (2010), and Chiar "Topicos" at Universidad Panamericana, Mexico City (2018).

He has published Cosmo e divinità. La struttura logica della teologia aristotelica, L'Aquila 1974; L'action efficace. Études sur la philosophie de l'action d'Aristote, Louvain-La-Neuve 2004; Aristotele, Rome 2014; Il metodo e il trattato. Saggio sull’Etica Nicomachea, Rome 2017. He has translated and commented in Italian Aristotle's Nicomachean Ethics, Rome-Bari 1999; Xenophon's Oeconomicus, Rome 2003; Alexander of Aphrodisias' De fato, Sankt Augustin 2009, and the Anonymous Commentary on Nicomachean Ethics II ("Elenchos" vol. 44, 2023). In English he has published The Wisdom of Aristotle, New York 2001; Aristotle: His Life and School, Princeton 2013, and has edited Aristotle's Nicomachean Ethics Book VII. Symposium Aristotelicum, Oxford 2009.

He is currently translating into Italian the Anonymous Commentary on Nicomachean Ethics III-V, published by G. Heylbut in Commentaria in Aristotelem Graeca, vol. XX.
